How it works
Unlike a fusible-link damper, the blades are driven by a spring-return actuator, so the damper fails safe to closed on power loss and can be opened again remotely for testing or smoke purge. End switches report blade position to the fire alarm panel or BMS.
Role in the system
- 1.Maintains the fire rating of walls and slabs that ducts pass through
- 2.Remote testing without ceiling access
- 3.Position feedback to fire alarm and BMS
